Xiaomi’s sub-brand, Poco, is set to make its tablet debut in India with the Poco Pad 5G on August 23. The company has been actively building anticipation by teasing key features of the device. However, recent leaks have spilled the beans on some previously unconfirmed details, including the processor, RAM, and Geekbench scores.
Processor and Performance Benchmarks
A Geekbench listing has revealed that the Poco Pad 5G, bearing the model number 24074PCD2I, will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor. This chipset is also featured in notable smartphones like the Realme 13 Pro Plus and the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion. Additionally, the listing confirms 8GB of RAM and the presence of Xiaomi’s HyperOS built on Android 14. Performance-wise, the tablet secured a single-core score of 1035 and a multi-core score of 2978 on Geekbench.
Display and Audio
Poco has officially confirmed that the Poco Pad 5G will sport a 12.1-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 600 nits in high brightness mode. The tablet aims to deliver an immersive audio-visual experience with support for Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, complemented by a quad-speaker setup, two microphones, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Design and Battery
The Poco Pad 5G will be offered in two attractive colors: Cobalt Blue and Pistachio Green. It boasts a slim profile at just 7.5mm thick and carries an IP52 rating for dust and splash resistance. A massive 10,000 mAh battery with 33W fast charging support promises to keep the tablet running for extended periods.
With its blend of performance, display prowess, and audio capabilities, the Poco Pad 5G seems well-equipped to make a mark in the Indian tablet market. The confirmed specifications coupled with the leaked details paint a picture of a device that could cater to both entertainment and productivity needs. While the final verdict will rest on factors like pricing and real-world usage, the Poco Pad 5G appears poised for a promising launch on August 23.
