Mastercard and boAt, India’s top wearables brand, are joining forces to introduce tap and pay functionality to boAt’s smartwatches. This collaboration aims to make contactless payments more accessible and provide users with a seamless payment experience.

Tap and Pay with boAt Smartwatches

Mastercard cardholders can now tokenize their debit and credit cards on boAt’s payment-enabled smartwatches through the Crest Pay app. This feature allows for quick and secure transactions up to INR 5,000 at POS devices without the need for a PIN, adding convenience to everyday purchases.

Expanding Access to Contactless Payments

Initially available to Mastercard cardholders from select leading banks, this contactless payment feature will be extended to other banks in the future. This move aligns with the growing demand for wearable devices in India, with the smartwatch market experiencing significant growth in recent years.

Enhancing User Experience and Security

The collaboration between Mastercard and boAt combines Mastercard’s trusted payment technology with boAt’s devices, ensuring secure transactions and boosting user confidence in wearable payment technology.
