Nissan Teases Refreshed Interior of Magnite Facelift Ahead of Launch
Nissan Magnite facelift gets a tech-savvy interior with a larger touchscreen, wireless charging, and a new digital instrument cluster.

Nissan is gearing up to launch the Nissan Magnite facelift on October 4, 2024. This refresh marks the first major update for the sub-compact SUV since its successful debut in 2020. With deliveries scheduled to commence on October 5th, Nissan Motor India is currently accepting bookings for a nominal fee of ₹11,000. The facelift promises a comprehensive suite of enhancements, encompassing cosmetic updates, interior refinements, and technology upgrades, all aimed at solidifying its position in the competitive sub-compact SUV segment.

A Refreshed Cabin Experience

While retaining the familiar dashboard architecture, the Nissan Magnite facelift introduces a revitalized interior ambiance. A new two-tone upholstery graces the seats, complemented by a sophisticated tan finish for the cabin. Elevating the technological experience, a larger nine-inch infotainment touchscreen takes center stage, offering seamless connectivity through wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Drivers will appreciate the new seven-inch digital cluster, providing essential information at a glance. Adding to the convenience factor, wireless charging capabilities ensure devices remain powered up on the go. Further enhancing the cabin experience is a single-pane electric sunroof, inviting the outdoors in, and an integrated air purifier, ensuring a clean and refreshing environment for all occupants.

Exterior Design Evolution

Nissan has strategically employed a teaser campaign on social media to generate excitement and anticipation for the Magnite facelift. While detailed visuals remain limited, the glimpses provided hint at a refreshed exterior design. A redesigned front fascia is expected, featuring a bolder grille and updated lighting elements. The rear is also likely to receive attention, with revised taillights and a more sculpted bumper. New wheel designs will further contribute to the vehicle’s updated aesthetic.

Powertrain Continuity and Efficiency

The Nissan Magnite facelift will retain the existing engine options, prioritizing proven performance and fuel efficiency. The 1.0-litre, three-cylinder naturally aspirated unit, generating 71 bhp and 96 Nm of torque, caters to those seeking a balance of power and economy. For those desiring a more spirited driving experience, the 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbocharged unit, delivering 98 bhp and 160 Nm of torque, remains a compelling choice. Transmission options continue to include a five-speed manual, a five-speed automatic (for the naturally aspirated engine), and a CVT (for the turbo-petrol engine), ensuring a suitable configuration for diverse driving preferences.

Enhanced Safety Suite

Safety remains a paramount consideration for Nissan, and the Magnite facelift reinforces this commitment. The company claims the updated model will offer over 55 active and passive safety features, including six airbags as standard. Building upon the existing safety foundation, the facelift carries over essential features such as ABS with EBD, ESC, rear parking sensors, traction control, a surround view monitor, hill start assist, and TPMS. Intriguingly, teasers suggest the inclusion of ADAS features, potentially encompassing lane departure warning and lane keeping assist, but official confirmation is still pending.

Global Ambitions and “Make in India”

Reflecting Nissan’s confidence in the Magnite facelift, Nissan Motor India has ambitious plans to export the vehicle to 40 countries worldwide. This includes markets with left-hand drive configurations, highlighting the company’s commitment to the “Make in India” initiative and positioning the Magnite as a global product. This strategic move not only strengthens Nissan’s presence in international markets but also underscores the capabilities of Indian manufacturing on the global stage.
