ASUS has unveiled the ROG Ally X, the latest addition to their line of handheld Windows gaming PCs, in India. The device made its global debut in June at Computex and arrives two months later for Indian consumers. Building on the success of the 2023 ROG Ally, the Ally X offers several significant improvements while maintaining certain key features.
Power and Performance
Under the hood, the Ally X continues to utilize the powerful Ryzen Z1 Extreme chip and retains the same display as its predecessor. However, ASUS has focused on enhancing other aspects of the device. Notably, the battery capacity has been doubled to an impressive 80Wh, promising extended gaming sessions. The storage capacity has also been doubled to 1TB, providing ample space for games and media.
Enhanced Memory and Cooling
In addition to the doubled storage, the Ally X boasts a 50% increase in system memory, now offering 24GB of RAM operating at a faster 7500MHz speed. This enhancement should lead to smoother multitasking and improved performance in demanding games. ASUS has also addressed cooling concerns by implementing an updated cooling solution that is not only more efficient but also operates more quietly.
Design and Connectivity
ASUS has not neglected the physical aspects of the device. The controls have been redesigned for improved ergonomics, and the body now features better grips for enhanced comfort during extended use. The Ally X also offers two USB-C ports for versatile connectivity, catering to a variety of accessories and peripherals.
Pricing and Availability
The ROG Ally X comes with a price tag of INR 89,990, a notable increase from the original model’s INR 69,990 price. Interestingly, the original model is now available at a reduced price of INR 49,990. The Ally X is available exclusively in black and can be purchased through the ASUS ROG Store, Eshop, Flipkart, and Amazon.
