Days ahead of the Made by Google event, where the Google Pixel Watch 3 is expected to be unveiled alongside the Pixel 9 series, a new leak has shed light on the specifications of the Pixel Watch 2 successor.
Performance and Memory
The Google Pixel Watch 3 is tipped to run on the same Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 5100 chipset and Cortex M33 co-processor as the previous model. The memory configuration is also expected to remain unchanged at 2GB of SDRAM and 32GB of eMMC flash storage.
Display Upgrades
While the performance aspects might not see a significant upgrade, the display of the Google Pixel Watch 3 is expected to get a notable improvement. The new model will reportedly be available in two sizes, 41mm and 45mm, both featuring a 60Hz refresh rate display. This should provide a smoother and more responsive user experience compared to the 30Hz display of the Pixel Watch 2. Additionally, the display is said to support a peak brightness of 2,000 nits and a minimum brightness of 1 nit for lowlight conditions.
Battery Life
The Google Pixel Watch 3 is expected to offer battery capacities similar to the Pixel Watch 2. The 41mm variant is rumored to have a slightly larger 307mAh battery compared to the 306mAh battery of its predecessor. The 45mm variant is expected to come with a 420mAh battery. Despite the minor increase in battery capacity, Google is reportedly still promising a 24-hour battery life with the always-on display enabled and up to 36 hours with power-saving mode on.
Although the Google Pixel Watch 3 might not bring groundbreaking changes in terms of performance, the improved display and reliable battery life could still make it a worthwhile upgrade for users seeking a smoother and more visually appealing smartwatch experience.
