Mahindra launches the ZEO electric 4W truck with a 246 km range, ADAS, and BaaS. Priced from Rs 7.52 lakh, the ZEO offers a green and efficient solution for last-mile delivery.

Mahindra & Mahindra has expanded its commercial vehicle portfolio with the launch of the ZEO, a fully electric 4W truck. This marks the company’s first foray into the electric 4W truck segment, aiming to compete with rivals like the Tata Ace EV. The ZEO is positioned within Mahindra’s Last Mile Mobility division, which already offers a range of vehicles powered by petrol, CNG, diesel, and electric fuels.

ZEO: Zero Emission Option

The Mahindra ZEO EV is offered in two variants: Zeo V1 and Zeo V2, both featuring a pre-built body with the DV200 suffix. The starting price is an attractive Rs 7.52 lakh (ex-showroom), further enhanced by Mahindra’s BaaS (Battery as a Service) program, with a rental rate of Rs 2.25 per km.

Powertrain and Range

The ZEO offers two battery options: 18.4 kWh and 21.3 kWh, providing a real-world range of 160 km and a claimed ARAI range of 246 km. Charging options include DC fast charging via CCS2 port (60 minutes for 100 km range), AC fast charging (3 hours), and home charging (7 hours). A single electric motor delivers 40 bhp and 114 Nm of torque, with a top speed of 60 km/h. The ZEO boasts a load capacity of 765 kg.

Advanced Features

Mahindra has equipped the ZEO with several advanced features, including drive modes (Eco and Power), a creep function, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) with forward collision warning, headway monitoring, pedestrian collision warning, and lane departure warning, and a driver monitoring system with driver fatigue warning, driver coaching, and driver behavior insights.

Design and Styling

The ZEO sports a typical small pickup truck design with a forward-control layout. Mahindra’s signature vertical slats are prominent on the front fascia, highlighted in blue to emphasize its electric credentials. Blue accents are used throughout the vehicle, including the grille, rearview mirrors, and decals on the side that boldly proclaim “ELECTRIC.” The ZEO features halogen headlights, a single windshield wiper, and dual-tone wheel covers on steel wheels. The cabin accommodates up to three occupants, and the load bed is rated for 765 kg.
