Nissan has begun delivering its top-of-the-line SUV, the X-Trail, to customers in India. The recently launched model is currently being imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), making it a high-end option in the market. The X-Trail is available in a single, fully-equipped variant, with an ex-showroom price of Rs 49.92 lakh. It primarily competes with SUVs like the Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian, Skoda Kodiaq, Volkswagen Tiguan, and Hyundai Tucson.
X-Trail’s Powertrain and Efficiency
The X-Trail is powered by a 1.5-liter, three-cylinder petrol engine, coupled with a 12-volt mild-hybrid system. This engine, featuring variable compression technology and turbocharging, generates 160 bhp of power and 300 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels through a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The SUV also includes an automatic start/stop system and offers three driving modes – Eco, Standard, and Sport – to further improve fuel efficiency.
Nissan Expands its Network in Bengaluru
In addition to commencing X-Trail deliveries, Nissan has also recently opened two new showrooms and a high-capacity workshop in Bengaluru. Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director of Nissan Motor India Pvt. The introduction of the X-Trail, a premium SUV with advanced features, aims to cater to the discerning Indian customer. Coupled with the strategic expansion of showrooms and workshops, Nissan is demonstrating its commitment to providing a superior customer experience and solidifying its position in the competitive Indian automotive landscape.
