OnePlus has unveiled OxygenOS 15, a new operating system built on Android 15. Designed for a fast and fluid user experience, OxygenOS 15 incorporates advanced AI capabilities and a refreshed design aesthetic.

Performance and Multitasking

Parallel Processing technology underpins the OS, enabling smooth transitions between apps and overall system stability, even during intensive multitasking. OnePlus asserts that users can seamlessly switch between more than 20 apps without experiencing lag or performance drops.

AI-Powered Features

OxygenOS 15 integrates AI to enhance both productivity and creativity. AI Detail Boost can upscale low-resolution images to 4K, while AI Unblur sharpens blurry photos. The AI Reflection Eraser removes unwanted reflections from images. For productivity, AI Notes offers voice-powered transcription and formatting, and AI Reply generates intelligent replies in messaging apps.

The OS also features Intelligent Search, allowing users to search their device using conversational queries. Circle to Search provides a quick and intuitive screen-based search function. Additionally, OxygenOS 15 integrates the Google Gemini AI assistant, supporting writing, planning, and live conversations in over 40 languages.

Refreshed Design

A fresh visual style is introduced in OxygenOS 15, featuring a new boot animation, redesigned icons, expanded shelf card options, and new fingerprint unlock styles. A “Share with iPhone” feature simplifies file sharing between OnePlus and iPhone users.

Security and Privacy

OxygenOS 15 prioritizes security with the integration of Google Play Protect for real-time threat detection and malware analysis. Advanced theft protection features include automatic device locking if theft is detected, remote locking via phone number, and an offline lock to prevent data extraction. Biometric verification adds an extra layer of security for sensitive actions.

Compatible Devices and Rollout

The open beta version of OxygenOS 15 will debut on the OnePlus 12 5G on October 30th. While an official list of compatible devices is pending, the following OnePlus phones are likely to receive the update based on their software update policies:

  • OnePlus 12 series
  • OnePlus 11 series
  • OnePlus 10 series
  • OnePlus Nord 4 series
  • OnePlus Nord 3 series

The rollout of OxygenOS 15 will begin with the OnePlus 12 series and progressively expand to other eligible OnePlus smartphones.
