POCO is gearing up to introduce its latest additions to the F and X series, the POCO F7 and POCO X7, in the global market, including India. These anticipated launches are drawing closer as the POCO F7 has recently received the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification, hinting at an impending release in India. Simultaneously, the POCO X7 has emerged on Thailand’s National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) platform, divulging key details about the device. While the F-series represents POCO’s premium offerings, the X-series caters to the mid-range segment.
POCO F7 Clears BIS, India Launch Imminent
The BIS certification, as reported by MySmartPrice, reveals the model number 2412DPC0AI, with the ‘I’ at the end likely indicating the Indian variant. This aligns with previous confirmations from the GSMA database listing of the same model number, which validated the POCO F7 marketing name.
While the listing doesn’t disclose any hardware specifications, it is anticipated that the POCO F7 will succeed the POCO F6 launched earlier this year. Previous sightings on Singapore’s IMDA certification revealed support for NFC, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and 5G connectivity.
Speculations suggest that the POCO F7 could be a rebranded version of the alleged Redmi Turbo 4, following the pattern of the Redmi Turbo 3, which debuted as the POCO F6 in India. The Redmi Turbo 4 recently obtained 3C certification with 90W fast charging. Rumors point towards the device featuring a 1.5K display, a MediaTek Dimensity 8400 chipset (compared to the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 on its predecessor), and a battery capacity exceeding 6,000mAh with 90W fast charging.
POCO X7 Appears on NBTC
The NBTC certification confirms the POCO X7 marketing name and the model number 24095PCADG, where the ‘G’ at the end possibly signifies a global variant. The certification indicates that the POCO X7 will support NR (5G), LTE, WCDMA, and GSM connectivity options.
Positioned as the successor to the POCO X6, the POCO X7 is rumored to inherit the same camera setup as the Redmi Note 14 Pro China variant. This suggests a potential configuration of a 50MP IMX882 main camera with OIS, an 8MP Sony IMX355 ultra-wide sensor, a 2MP OV02B10 macro camera, and a 20MP front camera.
If the rebranding speculation holds true, the POCO X7 may be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultra chipset and house a 5,500mAh battery with 45W fast charging. Given that the POCO X6 and X6 Pro were launched in India in January of this year, their successors are expected to debut around the same timeframe or even sooner.
