The POCO F7 Ultra, a potential new entrant in the premium F-series lineup by POCO, has recently gained FCC certification, signaling a near-future global release. This move comes shortly after the standard POCO F7 received BIS approval, underscoring plans for an imminent introduction in India and possibly other international markets. The excitement builds as the Ultra model was also noted on Singapore’s IMDA platform, highlighting POCO’s strategy to expand its value-oriented premium phone offerings worldwide.
FCC Certification Unveiled
According to a report by 91mobiles Indonesia, the device with model number ‘24122RKC7G’, initially thought to be the standard POCO F7, has been identified in the FCC records possibly as the POCO F7 Ultra. This listing suggests that the phone will come in several powerful configurations including 12GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB, and 16GB + 512GB variants. The POCO F7 Ultra is expected to operate on HyperOS 2, a custom skin potentially based on Android 15 OS, equipped with modern connectivity features such as 5G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth BR/EDR/LE, NFC, and the advanced Wi-Fi 7.
Hardware and Market Positioning
An intriguing detail from the FCC documentation indicates that although the phone supports LTE band40 and 5G NR N40, these features will be disabled via software for users in the United States. This device is speculated to be a rebranded version of the Redmi K80 Pro for global consumers. The Redmi model, which was recently launched in China, boasts significant specifications such as a Snapdragon 8 Gen Elite chipset, a 6.67-inch 2K AMOLED display with HDR10 and Dolby Vision, a robust 6000mAh battery supporting 120W fast charging, and a high-quality 50MP telephoto lens. The Redmi K80 Pro’s price ranges from CNY 3,699 (approximately Rs 43,200) to CNY 4,999 (about Rs 58,400) for its Champion Edition.
The anticipation around the POCO F7 Ultra follows the earlier launch of the POCO F6 and F6 Pro; however, only the POCO F6 was released in India. It will be interesting to see if POCO alters its strategy with the introduction of the POCO F7 Ultra in different markets.
