Samsung has expanded the heart health monitoring capabilities of its Galaxy Watches in India by introducing the ‘Irregular Heart Rhythm Notification’ (IHRN) feature. This new feature enables the Galaxy Watch to detect irregular heart rhythms indicative of atrial fibrillation (AFib), providing users with a more holistic understanding of their cardiovascular health.

Galaxy Watch Models Compatible with IHRN

The IHRN feature is now available on the latest Galaxy Watch7 Ultra and Galaxy Watch7 models, as well as on the Galaxy Watch6, Watch5, and Watch4 series.

Enabling IHRN on Your Galaxy Watch

To activate the IHRN feature, Galaxy Watch users need to update the Samsung Health Monitor app on their device through the Galaxy Store. Once the app is updated, the IHRN feature can be enabled from the app’s settings menu.

How IHRN Works

Once activated, the IHRN feature operates in the background, continuously monitoring for irregular heart rhythms using the Galaxy Watch’s BioActive Sensor. If the watch detects a series of consecutive irregular measurements, it alerts the user about potential AFib activity and recommends taking an ECG measurement for further assessment.

Enhanced Cardiovascular Insights

Samsung asserts that the IHRN feature, along with the existing Blood Pressure and Heart Rate monitoring capabilities, provides users with deeper insights into their heart health. With the addition of IHRN, Galaxy Watch users can now monitor various aspects of their cardiovascular health, including on-demand ECG recording and an HR Alert function that detects abnormally high or low heart rates.

Samsung’s introduction of the Irregular Heart Rhythm Notification feature for Galaxy Watches in India underscores the company’s commitment to empowering users to take proactive control of their health. By integrating advanced health monitoring capabilities into wearable devices, Samsung is enabling individuals to stay informed about their heart health and potentially identify irregularities that may warrant further medical attention. This innovative feature serves as a valuable tool for promoting heart health awareness and encouraging users to adopt healthier lifestyles.
