Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Ring Sail Through FCC Certification, Revealing Battery Details and More

In a significant step towards their official launch, Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 6 foldable smartphone and the much-anticipated Galaxy Ring have successfully cleared the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) certification process. This regulatory approval not only confirms their imminent arrival but also sheds light on key specifications, particularly battery capacities.

Galaxy Z Flip 6: A Slight Battery Boost

The FCC listing of the Galaxy Z Flip 6, identified by model number SM-F741U, reveals a dual-battery setup with a total rated capacity of 3790mAh. While slightly below initial expectations of a 4000mAh battery, it still marks a modest improvement over the 3700mAh battery found in its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Flip 5. Samsung is expected to market this as a 4000mAh typical capacity.

In addition to the battery details, the FCC documents confirm that the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will support Wi-Fi 2.4GHz, 5GHz, Wi-Fi 6E, NFC, and Bluetooth connectivity. The phone has also appeared on other certification platforms, such as the UL Demko certification, indicating support for 25W fast charging. Earlier leaks and rumors suggest that the Z Flip 6 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, which promises enhanced performance and efficiency.

Galaxy Ring: Sizing Up the Options

The Galaxy Ring, a new wearable from Samsung that aims to compete with devices like the Oura Ring, has also surfaced in the FCC database. Notably, the listing reveals that the Galaxy Ring will be available in a wide range of sizes, from 5 to 12. This variety is intended to cater to diverse user preferences and ensure a comfortable fit for different finger sizes.

The battery capacities for the Galaxy Ring vary depending on the size. Smaller sizes like 5, 6, and 7 are listed with a 17mAh battery, while larger sizes like 8, 9, 10, and 11 have an 18.5mAh battery. The largest size, 12, boasts a 22.5mAh battery. The ring will support Bluetooth LE and Bluetooth 5.4 protocols for connectivity.

Anticipation Builds for Samsung’s Summer Unpacked Event

The FCC certification of both the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Ring indicates that Samsung is on track for their expected launch in late July. The company typically holds its annual Unpacked event around this time to unveil its latest flagship devices. With these approvals in place, tech enthusiasts and Samsung fans alike are eagerly awaiting further details and the official unveiling of these innovative products.
