Tata Motors has recently unveiled the pricing for the Tata Curvv Petrol and Diesel, which are now available for purchase in India. These new models follow closely after the introduction of the Curvv.EV, enriching Tata’s diverse vehicle lineup. The entry-level price for the Tata Curvv Petrol variant starts at ₹ 9.99 Lakh, while the diesel variant begins at ₹ 11.49 Lakh. Notably, these are introductory prices, set to rise in November 2024. Both petrol and diesel versions, known as Curvv ICE (internal combustion engine), offer an array of configurations, with eight variants and six color choices available.

Design and Aesthetics

The exterior design of the Curvv ICE remains largely consistent with the Curvv EV, characterized by its distinctive front grille and air vents which differentiate it from its electric counterpart. The vehicle continues to sport a coupe SUV design, sharing this stylish segment with the Citroen Basalt.

Interior Comfort and Technological Enhancements

Inside the Curvv, the ambiance is elevated by a sleek 4-spoke steering wheel, similar to that found in the Tata Harrier, and ambient lighting that stretches across the dashboard. This model boasts a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, complemented by a high-fidelity 9-speaker JBL audio system. For additional comfort, the Curvv includes a panoramic sunroof, automated climate control, an air purifier, and ventilated front seats. Safety measures are robust, featuring six airbags as standard across all models, with higher trims offering Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS), an electronic parking brake, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

Engine and Performance

The Curvv ICE is available with three engine choices: two turbocharged petrol engines and one diesel engine. The 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine delivers 118 bhp and 170 Nm of torque, while the new 1.2-litre T-GDI turbo petrol engine produces 123 bhp and 225 Nm of torque. The 1.5-litre diesel engine offers 113 bhp and 260 Nm of torque. These engines are paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, making it the first diesel car in its segment to offer a dual-clutch option.

Competitive Landscape

The Tata Curvv with Petrol and Diesel options is poised to compete with several notable SUVs in the market, including the Citroen Basalt, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate, MG Astor, Skoda Kushaq, Toyota Hyryder, and Volkswagen Taigun.
