Tech Mahindra Introduces Altavec Spatial Technology Platform Globally

Tech Mahindra, a global technology consulting and digital solutions provider, today announced the global launch of Altavec, a new spatial technology platform. The platform aims to improve geospatial data management and large-scale mapping operations across various industries.

Having initially established a presence in Australia and the Asia Pacific Japan (APJ) region, Tech Mahindra is now introducing Altavec to markets in the United States and Europe. The company states that Altavec is designed to offer organizations advanced geospatial intelligence solutions.

Altavec is described as an AI-driven platform that combines human expertise with automation. It is built with a modular architecture intended to allow for integration and scalability across sectors such as utilities, telecommunications, government, and infrastructure planning. Tech Mahindra claims the platform provides tools for operational improvements and increased efficiency. The company highlights features such as real-time data processing, AI-powered analytics, and intelligent automation, which it says will streamline mapping workflows, enhance resilience, and support informed decision-making.

Birendra Sen, President of Business Process Services at Tech Mahindra, commented on the challenges faced by industries globally, including climate change, aging infrastructure, rising operational costs, and the management of large amounts of geospatial data. He stated that Altavec offers the necessary geospatial intelligence and AI-powered analytics to improve operational performance, build resilience, and enable better decision-making for sustainable growth.

According to Tech Mahindra, Altavec uses machine learning and a cloud-based architecture to provide rapid access to spatial intelligence. This is intended to enable predictive operations, improve performance, enhance safety, and increase reliability. The platform reportedly uses LiDAR and high-definition imagery to identify and mitigate infrastructure risks, creating precise 3D digital network models. Tech Mahindra emphasizes the platform’s adaptable design and modules, which combine technical capabilities, industry experience, and a focus on automation and scalability to meet the specific needs of infrastructure owners, operators, and maintainers.

Tervinderjit (TJ) Singh, Expert Advisory – CX at Third Eye Advisory, offered his perspective on Altavec. He suggested that the platform provides an opportunity for utilities, telecommunication companies, and local governments to use AI, automation, analytics, and geospatial technologies to deliver improved preventive, predictive, environmental, and sustainability services more effectively and efficiently. He believes this will benefit all stakeholders and the environment in the long term.

The launch of Altavec is in line with Tech Mahindra’s stated commitment to providing next-generation technology solutions that improve human experiences and help businesses succeed in a data-driven environment.
