Truecaller Auto-Block Spam: Say Goodbye to Unwanted Calls on iPhone

Truecaller introduces Auto-Block Spam for iPhone users on iOS 18. This new feature automatically blocks spam and scam calls, enhancing user experience. Premium subscription required.

In a move to further strengthen its arsenal against unwanted calls, Truecaller has unveiled a new feature specifically for iPhone users: Auto-Block Spam. This addition is targeted at users who have embraced the latest iOS 18 update, providing them with an automatic shield against scam and phishing calls. By proactively blocking these disruptive calls, Truecaller aims to enhance the overall calling experience for its users. The launch of Auto-Block Spam follows on the heels of the company’s earlier release, the AI Call Scanner feature, which was introduced in June with a similar goal of tackling the growing problem of fraudulent calls.

Taking Control of Your Calls

With Auto-Block Spam, users gain greater control over their incoming calls. They have two options to choose from: block only the most persistent spam callers or implement a more comprehensive approach by blocking all numbers that Truecaller’s system has identified as spam. While the latter offers a higher level of protection, users should be aware that it might inadvertently block some legitimate calls. Blocked calls will not ring on the user’s phone, but they will be visible in the call log as missed calls, clearly marked as “Scammer” or “Fraud.” Truecaller’s extensive caller ID database, built from the contributions of millions of users, serves as the foundation for its spam identification capabilities.

Eligibility and Access

The Auto-Block Spam feature is currently available exclusively for iPhone users who meet two criteria: they must have updated their device to iOS 18 and they need to be subscribed to Truecaller Premium. The premium subscription, which offers a range of additional features and benefits, is priced at Rs 99 per month or Rs 899 per year for iPhone users in India.

Simple Setup Process

For those eligible, activating Auto-Block Spam is a breeze. First, ensure your iPhone is running iOS 18. Next, confirm that you have an active Truecaller Premium subscription. Then, open the Truecaller app and navigate to the Protect tab. Finally, toggle on the Auto-Block option to enable the feature and start enjoying a more peaceful calling experience.

Truecaller’s Ongoing Commitment to Security

The launch of Auto-Block Spam underscores Truecaller’s dedication to safeguarding its users from the ever-evolving tactics of scammers and fraudsters. In addition to this new feature, the company has been consistently rolling out other security enhancements, such as the AI Call Scanner mentioned earlier. This tool empowers users to detect and avoid calls that utilize AI-generated voices, adding another layer of protection against potential scams. As the landscape of fraudulent calls continues to evolve, Truecaller remains committed to staying ahead of the curve and providing its users with the tools they need to stay safe.
