TVS Motor Company has expanded its popular Raider motorcycle lineup in India with the launch of the new TVS Raider iGO variant. Priced competitively at Rs. 98,389 (ex-showroom, Delhi), this new addition sits between the SSE and split-seat models in the Raider family. The TVS Raider iGO distinguishes itself with the incorporation of iGO technology, a suite of features designed to enhance both performance and fuel efficiency.

Design and Styling

The TVS Raider iGO maintains the stylish and youthful design language that has become synonymous with the Raider series. Its sleek and aerodynamic bodywork, complemented by a modern LED headlight, gives it a contemporary appeal that resonates with young riders. The Nardo Grey color scheme, exclusive to this variant, adds a touch of sophistication, further accentuated by the contrasting red wheels. This distinctive color combination ensures that the TVS Raider iGO stands out on the road.

Engine and Performance

Underneath the stylish exterior, the TVS Raider iGO is powered by a familiar 124.8cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. This tried-and-tested powerplant delivers a peak power output of 11.2bhp and 11.2Nm of torque, providing ample performance for daily commutes and occasional spirited rides. The engine is mated to a smooth-shifting five-speed gearbox, allowing riders to extract the best possible performance from the motorcycle.

iGO Technology: Boost Mode and Start/Stop System

The defining feature of the TVS Raider iGO is the integration of iGO technology. This innovative technology comprises two key elements: boost mode and start/stop system. The boost mode provides an on-demand surge in torque by 0.55Nm, making overtaking maneuvers quicker and safer. This feature proves particularly useful in city traffic conditions where quick bursts of acceleration are often required. On the other hand, the start/stop system automatically shuts down the engine when the motorcycle is at a standstill, such as at traffic lights. This intelligent system helps conserve fuel and reduce emissions, contributing to improved fuel efficiency and a greener environment.

Technology and Features

In addition to the iGO technology, the TVS Raider iGO comes equipped with a host of features that enhance convenience and connectivity. The motorcycle boasts TVS SmartXonnect, a Bluetooth-enabled technology that allows riders to seamlessly connect their smartphones to the motorcycle’s digital instrument cluster. This connectivity unlocks a range of features, including call and message notifications, turn-by-turn navigation, and access to ride statistics. The fully digital reverse LCD instrument cluster provides riders with all the essential information in a clear and concise manner.

Chassis and Suspension

The TVS Raider iGO shares its underpinnings with the other Raider variants. It features telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock, providing a comfortable and balanced ride quality. The suspension setup is tuned to handle a variety of road conditions, ensuring a smooth and controlled riding experience. Braking duties are handled by a front disc brake and a rear drum brake, offering reliable stopping power. The motorcycle rides on 17-inch alloy wheels, which not only enhance its visual appeal but also contribute to its agile handling.

Competitive Landscape

The 125cc motorcycle segment in India is highly competitive, and the TVS Raider iGO enters the fray with a strong proposition. It goes head-to-head with popular models like the Bajaj Pulsar N125 and the Hero Xtreme 125R. With its attractive design, feature-rich package, and the innovative iGO technology, the TVS Raider iGO is poised to make a significant impact in this segment.
