Vivo is set to revolutionize smartphone photography with the launch of its X200 series, featuring the world’s first Blueprint × Sony LYT-818 custom sensor. This cutting-edge sensor, built on an advanced 22nm process, promises lower power consumption and incorporates powerful algorithms for exceptional image quality. Vivo claims the camera’s capabilities “match one inch” for still photography and “exceed one inch” for video recording, hinting at impressive low-light performance and dynamic range.
Advanced Camera Technology
The Vivo X200 Pro and Pro Mini models will both leverage the LYT-818 sensor. The Pro boasts a 50MP 1/1.28″ super large bottom main camera with True-TCG HDR+VCS 3.0, achieving single-frame 86dB HDR, a +0.95e-signal-to-noise ratio, and real-time HDR preview. Further enhancing its photographic prowess, the Pro features an exclusive 200MP f/2.67 85mm outsole periscope lens paired with a V3 image chip, covering a focal length from 15mm to 85mm.
The Mini, while utilizing the same LYT818 sensor in its f/1.57 23mm 1/1.28″ super large bottom main camera, opts for an f/2.57″ 70mm midsole periscope lens. Both models offer telephoto and macro capabilities, ensuring versatility for various shooting scenarios.
“Blue Technology” for Enhanced Performance
The X200 series introduces Vivo’s latest “blue technology,” encompassing several key advancements:
- Blueprint customized sensors and imaging chips: This refers to the collaboration with Sony on the LYT-818 sensor, tailored specifically for Vivo’s imaging requirements.
- Blue ocean battery life system: While details remain scarce, this likely signifies a focus on power efficiency and extended battery life.
Blue top-notch chips supported by crystal chip technology stack: This suggests the inclusion of high-performance processors with advanced chip packaging technology for improved performance and efficiency. - Blue heart large models: This could imply the integration of large language models for AI-powered features and enhanced user experience.
Launch and Availability
The Vivo X200 series will be officially unveiled on October 14th at 19:00 during a press conference held at the Water Cube in Beijing. The phones will support 90W fast charging and have obtained all necessary certifications.
